Pioneering new treatments for contaminated soil
Specialized FastBac like ThermO+™ uses mild heat to break down soil contaminants previously considered non-biodegradable, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Pilot work on tons of poly-aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contaminated soil showed ThermO+™ technology to be cost-effective today for PCB-laden soil and cheaper than competing remediation technologies & Class C landfills.
ThermO+™ can quickly and cost-effectively degrade soil PAHs and PCBs

ThermO+™ - Today’s choice for PCB laden soil
No need for hazardous chemicals or solvents, or expensive incineration. Our FastBac line of products will clean your contaminated soil and close the site, both cost-effectively and sustainably.
Challenge
There are over 1,300 disposal sites on the National Priorities List (NPL) of the U.S Environmental Protection Agency and approximately 11 million people in the U.S., including 3-4 million children that live within 1 mile of a federal Superfund site and confront significant health risks.
Incumbent methods for the remediation of soils tend to be energy intensive and expensive. Landfills do not remove liability for the contaminated materials. Allied Microbiota has developed a unique bioremediation solution for the on-site remediation of contaminated soils, using naturally isolated bacteria and enzymes. Allied Microbiota returns soil to a usable state with fewer resources and lower cost.

Soil Remediation
No need for hazardous chemicals or solvents, or expensive incineration. Our FastBac line of bioremediation products will clean your contaminated soil and close the site. Allied Microbiota’s FastBac process is cost effective and sustainable.
Our FastBac line includes bacteria like ThermO+™ that uses mild heat to break down soil contaminants previously considered non-biodegradable, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Pilot work on tons of poly-aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contaminated soil showed ThermO+™ technology to be cost-effective today for PCB-laden soil and cheaper than competing remediation technologies & Class C landfills.
Some of our FastBac work in mild heat. One example is ThermO+™ breaks down soil contaminants previously considered non-biodegradable, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Pilot work on tons of poly-aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) contaminated soil showed ThermO+™ technology to be cost-effective today for PCB-laden soil and cheaper than competing remediation technologies & Class C landfills.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs)
The most common soil contaminant. Our methods remove over 75% TPHs from soils in only 5 days, including the most toxic compounds such as benzo[a]pyrene. These degradation rates make it possible to re-use some soils in 6-8 weeks.
Compared to excavation and landfilling of PAH and/or PCB contaminated soils, Allied Microboita saves barrels of oil and you money.
PCB Contaminated Soils
Halogenated compounds can be especially long-lived in soils and sediments. Chemicals such as PCBs require expensive Class C landfills when present above 50 ppm as per by the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). We can reduce PCBs to non-Class C levels and potentially to re-use levels.
Manufactured Gas Plants
Residual heavy petroleum compounds persist at long-closed gas manufacturing plants. Our mild thermal process can effectively remediate these issues as well.
A Greener AND More Cost-Effective Solution to Soil Remediation
You usually pay more for greener and sustainable products. Allied Microbiota treatment approaches have this by design. Our remediation approach uses far less energy and produces less greenhouse gases (CO2e) according to an independent study from the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I).
Compared to excavation and landfilling of PAH and/or PCB contaminated soils, Allied Microboita saves barrels of oil and you money.
Allied Microbiota's ThermO+ process uses less energy than landfilling up to approximately 18 days of process time. The impacts associated with transportation of soil are often the largest contributors of the life cycle GHG impacts of ex-situ soil remediation techniques. This is avoided with Allied Microboita’s on-site process
